Personal Reflection
By: Brooke Wigmore
In our first diplomatic training unit we worked on our team skills quite a bit. I learned new ways to present the information that I learned. Within this unit we read the book fiddler on the roof, and we got asked to present a scene from the movie. There was really only two ways that we could have done that presentation. Either act it out live or record it as a little movie. That’s a new exciting way that we learnt how to do in this unit. Another great example of new ways we could present was when my group had to do a personal reflection. Some groups decided to present their information as a little play for the class while others chose to make a prezi, which we learned how to do in the last unit, but my group decided that we wanted to present our information in a different way than the rest of our grade ten class, so we made a rap. This class is teaching me how to be more confident doing silly things in front of little groups of people and not be so embarrassed.
Also in this class I am learning how to do good quality work. I have gotten better at writing out assignments and wording all of my work that I was handing in at the beginning of the year. I am really enjoying this class because it is helping me learn ways to have more confidence in the ways that I present my work and myself to others, and it is also teaching me how to find the information that I need on my own instead of having somebody spoon feed me the answers that my teachers are looking for. This humanities class is teaching me how to learn on my own and that is definitely the best way to learn. I am enjoying being in the course and every day I learn something new about myself and what I am capable of.
